FRANKLIN, TN—Upwards of 70 strategic business partners from corporations throughout the southeast descended on Police Headquarters for discussion this morning in Franklin. The topic: Guarding the Nation's critical infrastructure through public and private sector partnership.
Did you know that more than 80 percent of our Nation's critical infrastructure is owned by the private sector? Because of that, Franklin Police, the FBI, and the InfraGard Advisory Council were proud to host today's counterintelligence vulnerability assessment workshop. The main focus of today's discussion was to facilitate twoway information sharing between vetted members of the private sector and law enforcement.
FBI Supervisory Special Agent Scott Augenbaum said, "The forging of solid relationships with corporate partners is an essential component to keeping the critical systems we rely on safe." Franklin's interim Chief of Police David Rahinsky said, "Being the host location for today's event was an honor. It lends to the fact that the security of our Nation truly begins right here at home."
