You are visiting the website of IMMA, the Maryland - Maryland Members Alliance Chapter of InfraGard, which is headquartered in the Federal Bureau of Investigaton's Baltimore Field Office. Now with over 880 registered members, and with meetings and events held at select venues throughout the state each year, the InfraGard Maryland - Maryland Members Alliance has grown into one of the most active InfraGard Chapters in our nation. We invite you to explore our site to learn more about our Chapter; our events; news; and links and resources relevant to understanding and addressing Cyber Security and other aspects of our nation's critical vulnerabilities.

InfraGard: A Unique Partnership, conferring Unique Benefits

IMMA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and charges no dues or membership fees; our efforts are generously supported by our proud sponsors. InfraGard is free to join, and offers unique membership benefits by virtue of establishing trusted partnerships at the outset:-prospective InfraGard members undergo FBI background checks to verify and maintain shared baselines of trust, thereby facilitating more meaningful levels of intelligent information sharing and access.

Why is InfraGard Important?

In 1998, the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) was established to serve as the U.S. federal government's focal point for threat assessment, warning, investigation, and response for threats or attacks against our critical infrastructures, 85% of which are privately held. These critical infrastructures include telecommunications, energy, banking and finance, water systems, government operations, and emergency services among other sectors comprising the foundations upon which our industrialized society is based.

During the FBI reorganization in 2003, much of the NIPC was moved to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), but cyber-related investigative and intelligence responsibilities remained with the FBI under its Cyber Division. As part of its mission, the Cyber Division of the FBI conducts outreach and information-sharing with the public- and private-sector owners and operators of critical infrastructures; the InfraGard program has become an essential part of the nationwide outreach effort of the FBI's Cyber Divsion. The program establishes a mechanism for two-way information sharing about intrusion incidents and system vulnerabilities and provides a channel for the FBI to disseminate analytical threat products to the private sector.

InfraGard Membership:

Some things just can't be bought. InfraGard membership is not for sale-it costs nothing to join, and the rewards of membership are immeasurable. Individual efforts can, and do, make a collective difference: why not lend a hand in support of the critical infrastructures upon which we all depend
