Justin Karim, President

Justin Karim is the Director of Operations and Public Programs for the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, Arizona. Previously he has served on MIM’s executive leadership team as Security Manager, and Head of Operations and Public Safety. Justin’s prior roles include Corporate Investigations and Security for Target Corporation; his projects have included disaster and evacuation management for the Houston Astrodome during Hurricane Katrina. He holds his degree in Business Administration and International Studies from the University of Houston, where he also attended the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Justin serves on non-profit committees including the Steering Committee for the Holocaust and Tolerance Museum and he volunteers in police service with Mesa Police Department.

Johnson Mathai, Vice President

Johnson is currently the Director of Safety and Security at The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort, in Phoenix, Arizona.  He has been employed by Hilton Worldwide since 1984.  He has assisted properties in Pre-opening, Safety/Security Training, Audits, Program Evaluations and Task Forces during labor disputes.  His responsibilities include Physical Security, Surveillance, Investigations, General Liability, Worker’s Compensation and Site Evaluations.

Additionally, he has over 20 years experience in Special Event Management which includes planning for high profile events, site evaluations, threat assessments and protection of high profile individuals.

Johnson has been a member of Arizona Infragard since 2006 and a CIKR since 2013.

Michael Kirby II, Secretary

Director of Security Services, Security Officer?Michael’s present role involves leading the Managed Security Solution (MSS) for ProNet Solutions, as well as the Information Security Officer for ProNet. This involves 7×24 protection of ProNet’s network resources as well as ProNet’s MSS customer network infrastructure base. Michael has earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology specializing in Network and Telecommunications. In addition to his duties at ProNet, Michael is an active member of the Phoenix InfraGard and ISACA chapter. He is a frequent speaker at seminars on topics related to information security awareness. Michael holds the following professional certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Master Certified Novell Engineer (MCNE), Novell Certified Linux Engineer (CLE), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Certified Novell Engineer (CNE).

Mike O’Shaugnessy, Treasurer

Michael O’Shaughnessy began his career with United Airlines in 1985 and spent the next 18 years in operational, strategic and security management. He served as the International Manager at Chicago and Miami, Operations Chief in Chicago and Security Manager at Washington DC Dulles and Glasgow, Scotland as well as General Manager in Utah and Arizona. His final assignment was as the original Director of Operations for United Airlines’ “TED” operation.

Mike departed United in 2004 and began work at a small Computer Forensics company. From 2004 to 2009 he oversaw the growth of the company from 10 to 108 employees and revenues increase from two to over 24 million dollars. The company expanded services outside of forensics to include consulting, litigation support and electronic discovery.

As the Founder and President of Guardian Pro Mike brings a heavy technical and security background and the vision to grow a company focused on educating the public and corporations and changing the landscape of technical security awareness and knowledge as well as establishing a standard for Corporate Information Governance.

Bob Franklin, Board Member

Bob has been in the I/T field for over 30 years and held management or Director positions at multiple Fortune 500 companies including; IBM Area Staff for Large Enterprise Systems, Network Manager at American Express on their worldwide operations network, Data Center and Distributed Systems management at MicroAge, and Production Control and Software Development management at Viasoft. Bob is currently at Honeywell managing their Aerospace Data Warehouse for the past 8 years and has spent six years in the USAF Strategic Air Command on B-52 Bombers.

Bob has held management responsibilities for teams in Operations, Software Engineering & Application Development, Voice and Data Networks, I/T Infrastructure, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and Technical Support. His teams include areas of; 7/24 Operations, Security, Testing, and Production Services and systems from Mainframe through Client Server. His key focus is Reliability, Availability, Serviceability and Security (RASS) for his customers and I/T systems he supports.

He has been a member and attending the FBI Infragard – Homeland Security since 1991, and prior to that a member of the FBI Data Center group that met in Phoenix.

Pamela Davis, Board Member

Pamela Davis is the Corporate Security Sr. Manager- Security, Revenue Protection, & Cyber Investigations for US Airways. A native of Washington, D.C., Pamela began her career with US Airways HQ in Crystal City, VA in Labor Relations. Joining Corporate Security in 1999, she worked in the Regulatory Compliance division, later overseeing the Fraud Prevention unit and security for Washington, D.C.-area airports as well as in the Caribbean.

Pamela currently oversees Fraud Prevention/Revenue Protection for US Airways, cyber investigations, and regional security for US Airways operations in Hawaii and Mexico, among many other duties. She is the company liaison to the FAMS, serves on the ARC Fraud Advisory Committee, and is also the Vice Chairman of the OSAC Aviation Security Working Group. She is Director of Community Services for a faith-based organization and is a licensed Commercial Pilot (MEL).

Mick Veselenak, Board Member

Mike Veselenak is the Security Operations Manager for the Sanofi Tucson Innovation Center located in Oro Valley, AZ and is also responsible for security operations at Sanofi’s Scottsdale location. Sanofi is one of the world’s largest Pharmaceutical groups having more than 110,000 employees in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Veselenak’s duties include physical security, technical security, alarm monitoring, meeting security/planning, investigations, and emergency response planning. He has established and maintains a strong relationship within the community and law enforcement. He is a 2010 graduate of the FBI Citizen’s Academy and member of the United States Marshal’s Posse bringing with him over twenty one years of security/law enforcement experience. Veselenak has been working to increase InfraGard membership within critical infrastructure as part of the Southern Arizona Outreach Program.

Roy Regalado, Communications Committee Chair

Roy Regalado is the Director, Business Development and Communications for IPSA Security Services. His background includes business and marketing management, security and investigative services and intelligence research and reporting.

Mr. Regalado is the Communications Director for Arizona InfraGard where he leads communications development, management and outreach to news media, federal officials, national security professionals, business security executives and the organizations’ membership. Mr. Regalado is a graduate of the Phoenix FBI Citizens Academy, class of 2010.

Frank J. Grimmelmann is President & CEO/Intelligence Liaison Officer for the non-profit Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance
 
(“ACTRA”), closely affiliated with the FBI’s AZ Infragard Program. In this capacity, Mr. Grimmelmann represents the private sector in the Arizona Counterterrorism Information Center (“ACTIC”), also serving as the first private sector representative on its Executive Board.   He also serves as the private sector Intelligence Liaison Officer (“ILO”) to the FBI Cyber Squad, the ACTIC, and the FBI’s Arizona Infragard Members Alliance. ACTRA’s focus is to enable the private sector to respond to the escalating national cyber threat, and to leverage Infragard’s vast private sector volunteer membership as a force multiplier in protecting our Nation’s critical infrastructure and National Security.   Mr. Grimmelmann served over four full terms as AZ Infragard’s President, and is presently on its Advisory Board.  He is also a Phoenix Rotary 100 Member, and actively volunteers his time with a number of charitable organizations.
